Beagles: It's a Love/Hate Relationship

Beagles.  I didn't know it was possible to love and hate something all at the same time.  I've heard it said that God makes babies cute so that we continue to love and care for them, even when they are screaming, peeing, pooping, and screaming some more.  Perhaps he had the same thought when he created beagles.

See what I mean? Cute right?  All I can say is, don't fall for it!  This cute little pup may look sweet and innocent, but behind that cute little face is a brain.  A brain much smarter than most four legged creatures.  A brain that has the ability to think, "No way am I going to come to you when all you want to do is take this pair of underwear out of my mouth and beat me.  You must think I'm a poodle or something."  A brain that also thinks, "You can put that baby gate up if you'd like, but the second you walk out that door I'm going to jump over it and chew off your baseboards.  That will teach you to leave me home alone."

On the other hand, ten minutes after wanting to beat the you know what after her, she does something cute like climb in your lap and kiss your face.  Or curl up in a little ball on the couch and snore.  Or watch Animal Planet for a half hour straight.  Literally.  Never have I been so fascinated watching something that is watching TV.  At the same time, I've never seen a dog watch TV like this one does.  One minute I can't stand her, the other I love her unconditionally.  It's a good thing she's cute!
